Our History
In 2004, Colin Stevens and Michael “Naz” Nazaroff were introduced by mutual friend Mitchell Johnson who recognized their shared interest in creative metalworking projects. At Mitchell’s suggestion, the three started renting a small space together where they could pool their resources. Mitchell’s career path led him away from Seattle, but Naz and Colin continued to slowly accumulate tools and experience, working part-time in the shared shop space and part-time elsewhere to make ends meet. In 2009, Colin met Garth L’Esperance when they were both hired as mechanics at 20/20 Cycle, and within a couple of years, Garth joined Colin and Naz in the metal shop. With his wide range of interests spanning Colin’s cargo bicycles and Naz’s 2-stroke motorcycles, and his energy and ambition to tackle ever more complex projects, Garth was the perfect catalyst for the partnership. In 2012, the three left their other jobs to focus on growing their metalworking business, incorporating as Cyclefab, LLC. In the years since, Cyclefab has grown exponentially, bootstrapping from a small basement space with basic hand tools, to a larger facility with modern wiring and CNC machining equipment with several employees. Now, with over 10 years of experience operating as partners in the fast-paced and demanding field of high-precision manufacturing, Colin, Michael, and Garth have the experience and equipment to collectively tackle all kinds of challenging jobs.
